2010 REINSW Novice Auctioneers Competition
Date: 29 July 2010
The Riverina Division of the Real Estate Institute of NSW (REINSW) Novice Auctioneers Competition will be held on the 29th of July at the Commercial Club from 6.00 pm.
The public is invited to attend this exciting event, where some up-and-coming auctioneers will battle it out on stage to win a place in the prestigious REINSW Novice Auctioneers Competition State Final in November.
Each Novice Auctioneer is required to auction off one item at this charity auction event. Funds raised from the auctions will go directly to Mission Australia’s Wagga Youth Connections. Wagga Youth Connections is a local organisation supporting young people and their families by providing crisis accommodation, counselling, assistance with education and employment, housing assistance, information and advice, and adolescent focused group programs.
The winner is not determined by the money value, but the entrant’s ability to present the item with confidence and poise, how they describe the item and control the bidding. They will also be judged on the correct use of the gavel.
The cost to attend the event is $20 per person and includes one complimentary drink on arrival and canapés.
Jacqui Adams from Fitzpatricks Real Estate is competing in the Novice Auctioneers Competition and says she is thrilled to be competing. Jacqui said “I am excited and also a little nervous about auctioning in front of a crowd for the very first time” Jacqui has been practicing her auctioning skills and said she is “looking forward to the challenge and also helping to raise much needed funds for Wagga Youth Connections.”
Organiser Andrew McLeod, from Fitzpatricks Real Estate said “the competition is a fantastic opportunity for not just budding auctioneers to learn a new skill and step out of their comfort zone, but it’s also an opportunity to compete in a zone, state and national level where you have the opportunity to meet some of the best auctioneers in the country.”
Andrew McLeod is a licensed auctioneer and understands the importance of providing such an event for budding auctioneers to showcase their talents and build their confidence.
