Michelle Heffernan takes out top honours at the REIA Awards for Excellence
Date: 1 April 2010
The Real Estate Institute of Australia (REIA) 2010 National Awards for Excellence were held in Adelaide on Thursday evening in recognition of the most outstanding practitioners in the real estate profession. The awards are an opportunity for the profession to celebrate its achievements and to honour its most outstanding practitioners at a national level.
Michelle Heffernan, Property Manager from Fitzpatricks Real Estate, was among one of the finalists nominated for the Achievement Award. After winning the REINSW Achievement Award in October 2009, Michelle went on to represent NSW on a national level at Thursday’s REIA National Awards for Excellence.
Michelle took out top honours winning the Achievement Award category. The Achievement award recognises excellence amongst new-comers to the industry in either the residential or commercial sectors.
Michelle is extremely humbled by her award and it is still sinking in for her. “I am so excited to have won this award, to be recognised at a National level is still hard to believe, but is very rewarding all the same. I absolutely love my job and the people that I work with, and I wouldn’t be where I am today without the support and mentoring I have received from the Directors and my fellow staff at Fitzpatricks Real Estate” Michelle said.
Michelle is 23 years of age and despite her youth she displays maturity and professionalism beyond her years. After completing her HSC, Michelle began her career in Sales Reception and went on to become a property manager in July 2008. Michelle says “I am passionate about my role and always strive to produce excellence in service whilst supporting my team through improving systems and processes.”
This is a fantastic achievement for Michelle; it also puts Wagga Wagga on the map, with the real estate industry’s top performers in Australia.
“To be recognised as a finalist at a national level is an achievement in itself, but to come out on top and win this award from a quality group of finalists is the ultimate recognition of excellence. An excellence displayed in all that Michelle achieves on a daily basis in her role both as Property Manager and as a team leader. We are very proud of Michelle’s achievements and thrilled that she has been officially recognised by the national real estate representative body, the REIA”, said Lyn Kimball, Director, Fitzpatricks Real Estate.
Speaking from the Adelaide award ceremony, REIA President David Airey said, "These awards are very important to our industry, recognising the best that Australian real estate has to offer."
