Christmas in July raises over $26,000

Fitzpatricks Real Estate proudly supported Wagga Business Networx at their annual Christmas in July event on Friday evening.

Doubling last years exceptional effort, over $26,000 was raised for the children’s accommodation division of Kurrajong Waratah from ticket sales and a charity auction.

Fitzpatricks staff, family and friends were among the 200 people who attended the dinner and show with the talented Australian Army Kapooka Swing Band under the direction of Major Jeff Cocks and the delightful voice of Simone Due. There was also a special performance by the 2009 Viewers’ Choice winners of Wagga Wagga’s Takes Two competition, Kay Hull and Geoff Harrison.

A highlight of the night was an impromptu auction where Andrew McLeod and Adam Drummond of Fitzpatricks Real Estate, and Matt Fox from Freidlieb Byrne Solicitors shaved their heads all in the name of charity. The three raised over $2,500 for Kurrajong Waratah’s Children’s Accommodation Service for children with a disability.

Fitzpatricks Real Estate Director and one of the founding members of Wagga Business Networx, Adam Drummond, said the event was one of the highlights on the group’s fundraising calendar of events.

“This year’s event at Joyes Hall was an outstanding success in terms of funds raised to assist Kurrajong Waratah and the support received by members of the public and the Wagga business community at large."

“On behalf the Wagga Business Networx committee, I extend thanks to those who support this event each year. The committee works hard to provide the funds required by Kurrajong Waratah to fund activities like holiday accommodation for children who may not otherwise have the opportunity.”

We are looking forward to an even bigger and better year next year.
