First Home Owners Grant Boost Extended

First Home Owners Grant Boost Extended

The Federal Government has announced the extension of the First Home Owners Grant Boost for both new and existing homes for a further six months. The FHOG Boost will continue as is until the 30th of September 2009 and then it will be gradually cut back until the end of the calendar year.

From October until December the FHOG Boost will be reduced from $14,000 to $10,500 for established homes and from $21,000 to $14,000 for newly constructed homes. Contracts entered on or after the 1st of January 2010 will receive $7000 for new and existing homes.

We are still awaiting an announcement on what will happen in relation to the additional $3000 the New South Wales Government currently pays to first home buyers of a new home, boosting the New Home Owner Grant to $24,000.
